eLiberatica / ROSI – plans for the next period

I’m back and working at eLiberatica again. There are so many things to do after such an event… Below it is what I’m doing right now and my plans for the future.

I planed three stages:

A. I take a break and rest 1-2 weeks – I renounced at it;
B. Take care about eLiberatica post event activities (estimated 1-2 months) – making public what happened at the conference this year;
C. Take care about ROSI (starting with September) – build the ROSI portal. If I can get help, perhaps we can do it sooner;
D. Preparing eLiberatica 2008; from November.

B. eLiberatica post event activities – from now to 1 September

  1. Responding to hundreds of emails I got from people who attended or the ones who couldn’t come
  2. Arranging photos I took – I already published on flickr, you can check mine here… Or you can check all published under the tag eLiberatica: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/eliberatica/ or search there for ‘eLiberatica‘ (is returning only after a week more than 500 images!).
  3. I still have to come with comments to all the pictures there
  4. Agora shot around 1000 pictures too, professional pictures, they promised to upload it on a ftp so I hope more pictures will come
  5. I invited people for feedback related to eLiberatica, right now I’m collecting this feedback and I intend to write my own report about it: eLiberatica it is an open event so I’m going to make a list with all the things that went good and bad
  6. I will update http://www.eliberatica.ro/ homepage with the most meaningful images from the conference, I’ll post there all the slides presented by the guests – I still wait for some of them to be sent to me
  7. I will set under LinkedIn a group/tag ROSI and invite everybody who is sustaining this initiative and the conference to adhere it

C. ROSI group portal; from September to October

  1. build a plan and specifications
  2. build a panel section to list all SO/FS Romanian organizations, groups and communities
  3. implement a discussion list
  4. see what we can do for the future, start to work on building and enlarging the community

D. Preparing eLiberatica 2008; from November

That’s the plan.

I strongly encourage you to publish all your thoughts about how eLiberatica 2007 went, please send me suggestions and anything you wish to improve for the next year.
Also, you can very easy help by publishing photos you take, commenting on blogs and spread the word about what happened at Brasov this year.

    Hei Marius, thanks! Actually I didn’t take any break only that I slept 14 hours a few days ago; and the answer come: we have to speed up and launch rosi.ro :) But I need help with Drupal, is somebody expert in this CMS? I have already Roberto Gerola – our Italian friend who helped with eLiberatica.ro website and localization, but it will be great to have others involved..

    Hi Kelye, than you; and what you wrote are great news!
    It seems that is not a coincidence we use to like the same quotes : “Almost everything you do will seem insignificant, but is important do do it”

    May the Force be with us ;)

    Sign me up for drupal hacking :) Not an expert on drupal but I’ve dug their module architecture some time ago and not afraid to get my hands dirty again :) ‘coz PHP debugging is fun :)
    However i volunteer for hosting&maintaining a wiki/development/test bed on 2mconsult.net which hosts at 2mhost:

    Disk space available 1186.34 mb
    A loot of bandwidth precisely 25 GB monthly traffic
    PHP5/MySQL5

    Thanks for offer to help with Drupal, Marius. Please allow me a few days to see what Roberto Gerola – the one who helped us with eLiberatica localization module will say. He is very strong on Drupal and he said he will help us again. We have to establish a plan, write some specs and so on. Collaboration over the net is pretty tough and we should prepare the things before start.
